L - Leaves Theme

(Yeah, it is the very last week of November and there are no colored leaves here in Arizona. Ok, maybe some, somewhere, but not in our neighborhood. I was very sad that all the leaves we collected were just green. Oh well.)

Music Time
We used these leaf cut outs as props during our songs. The girls waves them around and turned them over. It was fun.

Leaves on the Trees (tune of Wheels on the Bus)

The leaves on the trees turn yellow and red,
yellow and red, yellow and red,
The leaves on the trees turn yellow and red,
All over town.
The leaves on the trees go swish, swish, swish,
Swish, swish, swish... swish, swish, swish,
The leaves on the trees go swish, swish, swish,
All over town.
The leaves on the trees come tumbling down,
tumbling down, tumbling down,
The leaves on the trees come tumbling down,
All over town.

Five Little Leaves

Five little leaves, so happy and gay
Were dancing about on a tree one day
The wind came blowing through the town
And one little leave came tumbling down
(Repeat for 4-1 leaves)

Science / Physical Time
Leaf Collecting.

Leaf Sorting.

Leaf Observing. Notice all the green.

Arts / Craft Time
Leaf Rubbings. The girls didn't really get into this. They mostly wanted to examine and organize the leafs.

L-Leaves. Painted the letter orange and yellow. Glued on leaves. Cut edges off.

Snack Time
Leaf Cookies. Not very original but the girls had fun making and frosting them.
